LEGO Bionicle 8755 Keetongu was released as a set in 2005. It contained a bright red Rhotuka spinner. A lock on his chest armor allowed someone to open his chest cavity and fire a Rhotuka spinner, as in the story. His whirling shields could be spun with an axle on his right arm, and their surface area increased as they spun and decreased as they returned to stillness. The Keetongu set contained 201 pieces that could be combined with Roodaka's pieces to create The Shadowed One set, with Sidorak's pieces to create the Sentrakh set, or with both Sidorak and Roodaka's pieces to create the Voporak set.

LEGO 8755 Keetongu is a legendary Rahi, someone with an extensive knowledge of poisons and antidotes. He belongs to a race of intelligent Rahi, and is the only one of his kind seen, and may be the last of his kind after his island was conquered by the Visorak.

Background

Keetongu originally came from an island where his kind and the Tahtorak lived together, the latter being a steed for the ape-like Rahi. At some point their island was plagued by the Visorak, and Keetongu's species were extinct except for him. Keetongu migrated to Metru Nui, where his presence went unnoticed for centuries.

Many, including Iruini, thought Keetongu was just a myth, but was revealed to be real when the Toa Hordika discovered him in the Ko-Metru Hideaway. After speaking with Norik, he assisted five of the Toa Hordika during the Battle of Metru Nui. During the battle, Keetongu climbed the side of the Colosseum in an attempt to fight Sidorak and Roodaka. While Keetongu was still climbing, Sidorak tried to hit him several times with a blast from his Herding Blade, but missed. Roodaka fired a blast from her Catcher Claws, knocking him off. She convinced Sidorak that they needed to make sure he was dead, and when they checked, they found that he was actually more angry than hurt. He rose and killed Sidorak, who had been abandoned by Roodaka. After the battle, he decided that the Toa Hordika were worthy of his power, and turned them back into Toa Metru.

When Vakama returned to retrieve the Vahi, Keetongu fought Teridax outside the Great Temple. He survived the encounter, but was beaten. His Rhotuka spinner compartment was sealed and he was knocked unconscious. He has since recovered from his wounds. After the Toa Metru traveled to the island of Mata Nui, Keetongu stayed for some time to help rebuild the city and then left to rescue the Visorak victims on other islands. His current location is unknown; whether or not he will return to Metru Nui is uncertain.

Skills and tools

Keetongu can heal anyone affected by poison or poison, as long as the poison has not yet taken full effect; and his spinning shield array can absorb attacks that he can then return to his opponent using his Rhotuka spinner (although he cannot absorb Roodaka or Sidorak's spinners). His only visible eye cannot really see, but it can detect the good or evil in someone; the eyes with which he sees are hidden behind them. Rahaga Norik even said that "Keetongu sees with one eye, what we missed with our whole eye." He also carries a climbing claw that can be used as a melee weapon. He possesses great strength, comparable to that of a Makuta. Since Keetongu is the only one of his race still in existence, it is impossible to say what powers are shared by the entire race. He speaks in an abrasive language understandable only to himself and the Rahaga. Keetongu has knowledge of many antidotes, including an antidote to Hordika. However, he cannot heal those who are completely mutated.

Keetongu wields Whirling Shields capable of absorbing any force used against him. Once that power is absorbed, his Rhotuka can fire that power back at his opponent. Keetongu also has another defense: his big eye is not actually his true eyes, which are hidden behind something. He can use this fake eye to judge whether a being is good or evil, and therefore worthy of his loyalty and power. He also possesses immense strength, comparable to that of a Makuta. Keetongu is also extremely durable and can survive a fall from near the top of the Colosseum, as seen in Web of Shadows.
