New minifigure with Vitiligo appears in the Ideas 21337 foosball table

Just like in real life, LEGO "inclusion" is progressing gradually. The current LEGO Ideas set 21337 table football table contains a large number of minifigures that you can assemble according to your own wishes. The set contains a total of ten blue and red footballer bodies, as well as two goalkeepers. You can customize it with 43 different hairstyle parts and 44 different minifigure heads. One of the heads is very special: it represents a person or minifigure with Vitiligo.

Vitiligo

Even though very few people know the name, the skin disease, also called vitiligo, is more widespread than people realize. It is believed to affect up to 2% of the world's population. Typical for vitiligo are pigment disorders, which appear in the form of white, pigment-free skin areas. Some of the most famous people with vitiligo include model Winnie Harlow, Michael Jackson and former French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe.

Other disabilities

For several years now , LEGO has been releasing minifigures with special "challenges" in various sets to also promote inclusion in the domestic play world. In 2016, the first wheelchair user appeared in the LEGO City set LEGO 60134 Ville Minifigures Fun in the park

in the years since, followed by a woman with a hearing aid, people with a prosthetic leg, a racing wheelchair user and a man with a guide dog.

By the way, there is also another character with a hearing aid in the table football game.

We think Great work LEGO!

This way, "inclusion" can continue in the coming years!
