The top 10 LEGO minifigures of 2022

Whether it's Commander Cody, James Bond, the Muppets or the Lion Knight: the year 2022 has spawned many coveted LEGO minifigures . A total of 897 new figures were released last year - that's quite a lot!

Which are the top 10 LEGO minifigures of 2022?

10th place: Vincent van Gogh

All LEGO Ideas collectors and art-loving LEGO fans could look forward to the LEGO 21333 Vincent van Gogh - Starry Night set last May. Included was a replica of the world-famous painting and a minifigure of its creator, Vincent van Gogh. The figure's appearance resembles Van Gogh's clothing in one of his famous self-portraits.

9th place: Din Djarin

This summer, Din Djarin from LEGO 75325 N-1 Starfighter finally received a detail that LEGO Star Wars fans have been asking for for years: a head with a print on the face. Because even though the Mandalorian is actually forbidden to remove his helmet, his face has been known since the first season. In addition, the figure is also equipped with the Darksaber for the first time.

8th place: Knight of the Yellow Castle

The Knight of the Yellow Castle delighted fans of the old LEGO Knights sets in September as part of the LEGO 71034 Minifigure Series 23 . After there had already been new editions of the Black Falcons and Lion Knights, the 375 Yellow Castle from 1978 could now be populated again. The knight convinced with all kinds of accessories, such as a helmet, a hobby horse, a sword, a shield and armor, and finished in a well-deserved 8th place.

7th place: Nutcracker

Also from the LEGO 71034 Minifigure Series 23 comes the Nutcracker, which took 7th place on our list, just ahead of the Knight. The figure convinces with a detailed design thanks to various double molds and extensive printing. The figure comes with a saber and a 1×1 round tile with nut print as accessories.

6th place: The Golden Dragon Ninja

Over the summer, the LEGO 71773 Ninjago ninja prepared for the final battle against the Overlord. Their new dragon form helped them, giving us not only new parts such as the armor, the cool dragon helmet or the wings, but also the colors of the figures are very special due to the extremely large number of golden and transparent parts.

5th place: Ned B

Ned-B is one of the few highlights of the LEGO 75334 Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. set. Darth Vader, which was released in the summer of 2022. The friendly droid from the Disney+ show Obi-Wan Kenobi seemed so popular with some of our readers that they voted him Minifigure of the Year.

4th place: Forest Elf

Just off the podium, fourth place goes to the Wood Elves from LEGO 71032 Minifigure Series 22 from earlier this year. The cute little guy mainly scored with us because of his cuteness factor.

3rd Place: Commander Cody

If a LEGO Star Wars fan has asked in recent years for a minifigure they've been dying to own, chances are they've mentioned Commander Cody in his Phase II armor. This wish came true in the summer thanks to a newly designed helmet that now finally also accommodates accessories. This figure is included in the LEGO 75337

2nd place: Kermit the Frog

In May 2022, LEGO implemented another entertainment classic in the form of collectible figures with the LEGO 71033 Muppets . Many of our customers felt reminded of their childhood by the 12 characters and therefore often chose the most famous representative of the Muppets as minifigure of the year: Kermit the Frog.

1st place: Aloy

We were surprised when LEGO announced LEGO 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Long Neck out of practically nothing earlier this year. Aloy, the main character of the two Horizon video games, was able to impress with detailed prints on the torso, arms and legs, as well as a new double-molded hairpiece, including the focus.
