LEGO 8648 Buzz Saw

8648 Buzz Saw is a Power Racers themed set released in the year 2005. The set contains 76 pieces and does not include minifigures.

The Buzz Saw vehicle has two front-mounted circular metallic silver saw blades and glow-in-the-dark hubcaps that fit into the wheel hubs. A pull-back motor powers the vehicle as it is pulled back and released.

The vehicle's bodywork is mounted primarily on the retractable engine section and includes elements that are new for 2005, such as the metallic silver engine block and beveled bricks. Most of these are black and orange and red pieces are also used.


Checkered flag and flame stickers complete the racer's visual appeal; the windshield-mounted example is numbered 96. The Buzz Saw is equipped with a "wheelie" function that can be achieved by holding the lever on the rear of the racer while releasing the pull-back motor.

Buzz Saw can be combined with Night Racer to create the Dual-Engine Truck, which was also available as a special set in 2005.
