PLAYMOBIL: Transparent special figure for the anniversary – and LEGO?

PLAYMOBIL is currently celebrating the brand's 50th anniversary. In line with this, the manufacturer recently launched a special transparent figure (number 71572) for just under ten euros, which as a LEGO fan I am a bit jealous of. I also wonder why the Danish toy manufacturer didn't come up with the idea to surprise global fans with a special transparent figure for the anniversary of the LEGO minifigure (40 years in 2018)?

There certainly would have been plenty of opportunities. In this case, PLAYMOBIL does an excellent job and shows how it can be done.

I discovered the figure by chance on eBay and bought it straight away. Now the figure was well packaged in my mailbox and the idea for this post was born.

Transparent LEGO Minifigures?

A few years ago I started collecting clear LEGO minifigures that were once produced as prototypes or for testing purposes in a LEGO factory. I now have a few of these figures together, including the clear LEGO minifigure.

I think LEGO fans would be thrilled (probably a slight understatement) if the Denmark clamp block manufacturer released transparent minifigures for the anniversary. The next anniversary is definitely coming!

By the way: every part of the transparent LEGO figure has the manufacturer's logo on it, which to me is a clear indication that the figures were produced by LEGO (for whatever purpose) and are therefore original.
