LEGO Ideas entries 21-5-2024

Last week we were able to introduce you to the LEGO Ideas 21349 Tuxedo Cat, which will be available in stores from June 1. The LEGO Ideas Designer Team also announced the results of the second evaluation phase in 2023:

The Minifigure Prize Machine and the Western River Steamboat will be new Ideas sets. We're happy to add two (or three?) sets to the list of upcoming Ideas sets and congratulate the winning fan designers of the second review in 2023.

Minifigure Prize Machine

The minifigure Prize Machine from fan designer Rob Vangansewinkel (aka Goosestore) has won hearts not only in the Ideas community, but also among the LEGO Ideas design team. The machine is a fun and unexpected way to use LEGO bricks. Rob's creation offers a whole new kind of surprise and delight, making it both an iconic display piece and a functional minifigure mystery machine.

With the planning of the new Idea Set, we can even expect another fan vote. Because various funny minifigures can be included in the range for this set. For this reason, some new minifigures are being designed and will be included in this set. For two of the minifigures you can even have a say in what they should look like.

Two separate fan polls will be launched in the coming weeks for you to vote on: a new Classic Spaceman color and a new emblem for the Castle faction.

Western River Steamboat

Fan designer Aaron Hall (aka CTDpower) was also able to impress with his Western River Steamboat. The ship is an incredible structure full of details that evokes an authentic steamboat experience. It is also a vehicle that has never been built in this form by the LEGO Group. Aaron certainly incorporated many of his personal experiences into this model, from growing up on the banks of the Mississippi to his background in architecture and home design to working on a riverboat

Disney Pixar's Luxo Jr. Lamp

We can also announce that with a bit of luck we may also receive the well-known Disney Pixar lamp as an Idea Set. The review board was impressed with Disney Pixar's incredibly cute and iconic Luxo Jr. lamp, built from LEGO bricks by T0BY1KENOBI25150. However, they have not been able to tick off all the points needed to move forward with the project and further evaluation is necessary. That is why we now have to wait until another test has taken place. This summer we will know whether the lamp will be produced.

In addition to the two – or three – new models, there are seven other fan creations in development that will be released at various times in the future. With the two new sets, the list of open LEGO Ideas sets looks as follows:
